Perhaps you’ve seen them before… photos of your friends on Facebook or Twitter, but with a faded color scheme and distorted – almost antiquated – feel about them.
Instagram. It used to be all the rage with those with iPhones, but I’m happy to report Android users can now participate in all of the fun.
Today, Instagram became available on Google Play (formerly called Market on your Android). Just search Instagram and it should appear… if that doesn’t work, you can follow this link and log in with your Droid e-mail to download it to your phone.
Of course, I needed to take a photo ASAP after downloading… so naturally, I took a photo of my vending machine loot:
For those not familiar with Instagram, it is a “fast, beautiful and fun way to share your photos with friends and family,” according to its website. With one click, you can also publish your photos to your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or Foursquare too.
I’m going to make a point to make some dramatic Instagram photos around the newsroom in the next few days to fully familiarize myself with the platform.
